Why Nigeria?

For people in Nigeria, access to safe and affordable surgical care that’s sustainable can change everything.

Over 20 years ago, our uncle Pianu was involved in a motorcycle accident, taken to a nearby hospital, and left unattended for hours due to limited staff and resources.

Pianu's portrait

After spending several hours in grueling pain, he was treated with a wooden cast. The only treatment he received despite having severe burns and catastrophic injuries.

After our family spent hours frantically trying to transfer him to another hospital, he died on the way to the second hospital. His death was preventable.

We were devastated.

-Unfortunately, our uncle’s case is not uncommon. Eighty percent of Nigeria’s 200 million people receive subpar medical care or none at all resulting in death or permanent injury. Making access to safe and affordable surgery rare.

But access to safe and affordable healthcare that’s sustainable means education, income, and health - especially for women and kids.

-With your help, we can write a new script. Centered on the redemptive power of the gospel, we're empowering Nigeria’s best doctors to serve Nigerians most in need of medical care. When doctors thrive, patients thrive.
